Organize your monitors into projects

Release

Each account now organizes its monitors into projects. A project is a billing unit with its own plan. You choose which monitors go in each project and subscribe to the plan that fits that group's volume.

The Overview screen

Monitors and projects now live together on the new Overview screen. Each project appears as a card, with its monitors listed right below, the plan it's on, and how many monitors are in use against the plan's limit.

Every account starts with a default project, marked with the Default badge. It shows your account's name and can't be deleted. You create any other projects as you need them.

Create, rename, and delete

Use the New project button at the top of the screen to create a project. On each card, the options menu lets you rename the project, including the default project, which then shows the name you chose instead of the account name.

Extra projects can be deleted when they have no monitors and no active plan. The default project can't be deleted.

One plan per project

Each project has its own plan. The default project can use the free plan, but extra projects need a paid plan before they can hold monitors. While a new project has no plan, it's highlighted with a notice and a Choose plan button.

The monitor limit now applies per project. When you reach the limit of that project's plan, the card tells you to upgrade to add more.

Move monitors between projects

You can transfer a monitor to another project, in your own account or in an organization you manage, always within the limits of the destination plan. That makes it easy to reorganize everything as your contracts change.

Who can manage projects

Creating, renaming, and deleting projects, and managing their plans, is limited to the account owner. Other members still see projects and monitors as usual, with read-only access to these actions.
